| Międzynarodowe Pokazy Lotnicze Radom 2009 |
After the 2002 and 2003 events, then still with participation of MiG-21s, there were no real attractions in
Radom Airshow programme for a longer time. Only the - later cancelled - attendance of Romanian MiG-21 LanceR and first of all of a Byelorussian delegation this year
provided a reason to go on the exhausting way to the East of Poland. Unfortunately, the show was ill fated: continuous rain on Saturday was followed by the tragic
crash of the Su-27 on Sunday. Nevertheless, a few nice memories remain ...

The Midnight Hawks from Finland took of in rain and had to struggle hard to land back safely during the subsequent heavy shower.

One of the few dry places on Saturday was underneath the wings ...
... of Polish MiG-29UB.
At least the bad weather gave the chance for an almost untroubled walk through the static display, where among others this Mi-17 with refitted searchlight, ...
... a Su-22UM-3K in ugly black colours ...
... as well as this menacingly armed TS-11 Iskra were on show.
The - so far - sole C-130 Hercules of Polish Air Force left its stand in the evening.
On Sunday the sun was shining and made the MiG-21M in front of the base entrance look as good as new.
Star of the static display without any doubt was the Byelorussian Su-24, ...
... which was based in East Germany before and got new colours on the occasion of the show.
Poland's new F-16s were presented both on the ground ...
... and in the air, where they led the opening formation.
The eagerly awaited premiere of Byelorussian Su-27 abroad ...
... ended up in disaster shortly and led to cancellation of the event.
