At first, the trip to the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History in Brussels in autumn 1997 was more of a stopgap visit by the author, who had ended up in the far west of Germany. But the numerous interesting exhibits, above all the former Indonesian MiG-21F-13, which had found its way into the collection by tortuous paths, really made the trip worthwhile.
