As a student in Dresden, in the summer of 1993 the author managed to obtain permission to visit Elbe Flugzeugwerke Dresden and to witness the scrapping of the NVA MiG-21s taking place there. Unfortunately, MiG-21bis 879, which the author had looked after as a technician, had already been scrapped by then, but the sight was sad enough. The information obtained during the visit then formed the basis for the author's first publication. Unfortunately, only a few pictures from this visit have survived, three reasonably successful ones of which can be seen below. No comment is needed ...
