In 1996 and 1997, the author's aviation activities shifted westwards for professional reasons. While the airfields of interest for the MiG-21 had so far also been the nearest ones, this changed during these two years. Belgium and Holland were suddenly "on the doorstep". So it was obvious to take a look at the airshow scene there and encounter numerous aircraft types that one did not usually get to see further east, while at the same time the MiG-21 became "scarce".
