As the following pictures show, the SIAD on June 5 and 6, 1999 at Bratislava airport was also one of the memorable aviation events in Eastern Europe, distinguished both by many participants and by an attractive flying programme. From today's perspective, the list of aircraft and helicopters represented sounds almost unbelievable: MiG-29, Su-22, Su-25, Su-27, Draken, Viggen, Starfighter, Jaguar, Mirage 2000, Tornado, L-29, L-39, F-5, F-18, Phantom, Mi-2, Mi-17, Mi-24, Sokol ... and, most important for the author, the MiG-21!
Unfortunately, the event was overshadowed by the crash of the BAe Hawk 200 on Sunday, in which two people were killed.
