The author's visit to the Bundeswehr Day at the naval base in Warnemünde on June 11 came about rather by chance and, despite the local focus on the navy, also had a few aviation aspects to offer. These included Patriot surface-to-air missile systems of Flugabwehrraketengruppe 21 from Sanitz, a stand of fighter wing JG 73 from Laage and, above all, demonstrations by a Navy Sea King helicopter together with the Navy special forces command and the sea rescuers of the DGzRS.
